Install the connecting rod and steel piston in the engine, the part number on the connecting rod assembly is loed on the rear of the engine. The rear of the engine is the flywheel end of the engine. Before inserting the connecting rod and piston group into the cylinder block, lubrie the connecting rod and piston group with clean machine oil.
Install the piston ring with the side marked "UP-1" facing the top of the piston. The colored stripes are towards the right of the piston ring end play.
The thickness of the new top piston ring is 3.32 mm (0.131 in).
Clearance between piston ring ends in a 110 mm (4.3 in) cylinder bore
for
0.40 ± 0.10 mm (0.016 ± 0.004 in).
